Readers: Would you find this interesting or would this creep you out?

I'm gonna be writing a novel this summer, and this is how I want to START it out: there is a 15 year old girl who has a huge crush on a man from a different era than her. but this is more than a just 'oh he looks nice' kind of thing. she is romantically/sexually attracted to him. this girl wishes and wants constantly to be born in the different era to hook up with the crush. would you consider this a "normal girl", an interesting idea, or would you put the book down because it creeps you out? Be honest!
