Re: Watering Procedues for Cultivation of Vegetables Indoors?

In this setting is it necessary to avoid wetting leaves and stems when watering? We know this to be a good practice with some decorative plants in order to prevent development of fungi. (By preference the growing medium is premium gardening soil, rather than sterilized potting mix.)

In the outdoor situation rains douse plants copiously. This, after all, is the way of nature. We realize that science acquaints us with considerations that can improve growing procedures, but on the other hand, as tasks proliferate the more burdensome an activity becomes.

Is it practical to abandon over-caution in this matter and do things in the natural way - perhaps even misting, with an eye to maintaining natural conditions?

What, what?
