US Football has nothing to do with the World Cup.
And its no big surprise that the US Soccer team lost. They were way over-ranked. Only people who don't watch the sport rooted for them.

Or maybe people that are citizens of the US. This isnt exactly an event where you choose who you root for.
Anyway, I am sooo dissappointed. Regardless of what anyone says, this was a good US squad. First, I think Bruce Arena needs to be fired immediately. Only starting one forward today was absolutely ridiculous. Then down by a goal at half he doesnt choose to add one when we needed two goals. We waits until 20 minutes left to do that. What a fucking moron. He made very poor decisions in tactics, formation, lineup, and subs. Nothing was done properly in concerns to coaching. The players only showed up for the Italy game and that sucks. If they would of played the other two games the same way, they would certainlty be advancing. I also think the officiating was out of hand. I am in no way placing blame on them for the loss but teams shouldnt have to deal with that shit. The officiating has been poor in a lot of games so far and they are realing ruining some games and that just sucks.
Time for the US to move on and look forward. I am already planning a trip to South Africa in 2010.

i agree on bruce. i hate him w/ a passion. further more...its really the board who hired him. theyre retarded. why dont we get a european coach. basically any of them will do. i dont even know what team he coaches. the players are very good. most to all were looked at to go to europe to play. playmakers didnt step up.but i like ghana too. they arent gonna do to well next round but i dont think theyre gonna get owned. maybe 3-1?

That was a great goal though
Ghana should not have been awarded that penalty and the game should have ended 1-1. Even so, it wouldn't have been enough to save your asses. If you had only played the Italy game better and taken advantage of Italy having a man down you guys could have won that game with some luck. Alas lesson learned, better luck next time.

The US had a tough break, things went wrong on all levels - poor play, VERY bad coaching decisions, and terrible calls that impacted the games. I think that things could of been very different had Bruce been smart and played the proper players in the proper formation. Oh well, we look onto to 2010. I am already saving money for a trip to South Africa.
