containing an artist depiction of Jesus with part of the focus
(on Jesus' fingers)?
What is the "significance and origin" of the index and middle finger
pointing?

The finger gestures are usually indicative of a blessing. Hindu art uses mudras (hand gestures), too, as does the artwork of many other religions. These gestures are not unique to Christianity.

I think you mean the gesture indicating "blessing." I think that stems from Greek art, but I have seen it from earlier Buddhist work.

If you look at it from a symbolic point of view;the two fingers pointing form a V which in Wicca and Paganism stands for "womb/chalice" which also represents the Goddess aspect of that spirituality if you have ever seen "The Da Vinci Code" then you'd more or less understand what I'm talking about.
