A friend and myself went for a fairly long ride yesterday. We stopped for a break and to enjoy the scenery, when we got ready to roll, my bike wouldn't start. All lights and electronics functioned properly except for the starter. My first thought was the ignition fuse, it was blown. My next thought was the cause of the blown fuse. I began tracing wires, particularly the ones that form the spaghetti factory under the seat. Here I found that the after market Mustang seat had been pressing against a bundle of wires, and had cut a couple of them, grounding them out against the clips that held them in place. These clips were metal and in direct contact with fender and frame. I moved the bundle to an open space that the new seat provides and repaired them. All is right and well now, but I thought this post might reach another S50 owner who could be spared the heartache and strain of roadside repairs.
