Rapid weight loss or no? You judge.

A few of my friends have complimented me on my weight loss over the months. Some others have said I have loss to much weight.

When I graduated from High School I immediately got a job at a grocery store. I am on my feet 8 hours a day. Constantly moving, putting out product, lifting heavy loads, etc.

Prior to this job I did very little exercise. I sit on the computer a lot so that didn't help me. My only exercise was taking my dogs out for two 30 minute walks a day.

I also went to the gym for 1 year prior to working and loss 15 pounds doing cardio and weights. I didn't change my eating.

Over this past year of working, I have lost roughly 40 pounds. I weighed myself the other day on a few scales for the first time since then. I was at 213lbs starting my job, now I am at around 170. My heaviest was 227 when I started working out.

Because I am tall, my weight was spread around. I am 6'2 tall. I have lost pretty much any fat that was on my face. I have lost a lot on my chest, there's still a small gut, but not visible to anyone looking at me. All around I look okay.

I did change my eating a bit. I use to eat a lot of bread. I eat maybe 4 slices max a day. I still drink a lot of juice. I may drink a litre of different kinds of juice - apple, orange, whatever I buy. I also cut back on the pasta and meat.

I also do not smoke, do drugs, or drink alcholol.

One of my friends says I may have diabetes because of the amount of juice I drink. The other agrees. But I thought weight loss would prevent diabetes?

- I don't feel any weaker, I feel way better if anything.
- I don't eat as much.
- I haven't noticed any muscle loss.

Please leave your comments, sorry it's long.

Abnormal thirst is a possible sign of diabetes - just thirst in general, not for specific drinks. It may be that all the physical activity has caused the weight loss. I started going to a trainer a year ago and have lost only about 3-4 pounds. But all my female friends are telling me to quit losing weight! Say they won't talk to me any more if I get any smaller. But it's not weight loss - it's that my body has changed due to the working out.

So good for you for getting in shape - not matter how you've done it.

thanks I just want to hear some different opinions.

The actual really thirsty feeling is only when I come home from finishing at 4:30-1pm shift and I eat, then fall a sleep on the couch. Not sure why I feel thirsty after I have drink when I wake up then.

anyway in general I just feel a lot better. I can't see anything bad.
