What are peoples thoughts on this Rapid Detox where trhey put you to sleep for 45 min, as they flush your system out and you wake up clean and sober? I found one in Michigan and its $5800, I have also seen others for $15,000. Just wanted to get peoples thoughts or if anyone on here has gone and done it? My doc said he does not suggest it as you feel awful when you wake up and going that route you will more likley use again??

Thanks Jill - Chicago:angel:

Jill-
The only information I have about this type of detox is that it's very high-risk and although it does basically "clean" out your system, it is NOT a cure. All this does is flush your system, and forces you into extreme withdrawal while you are in the medically induced coma.

Once you are awake, you will still have to have a plan in place to continue your recovery. The rapid detox doesn't take away the psychological addiction or the physical cravings. That part of recovery will still take quite a bit of time and determination on your part. You will need to have a support & recovery system already in place, and begin with that recovery process immediately.

There are people who have gone through the rapid detox and gone back to using because they didn't follow through with a proper recovery program.

Take care, and best wishes!! :)
