ran out of suboxone early

I ran out of suboxone early...obviously I took too many in the beginning of the month, or that would not have happened. I am on 2 8mg strips per day, but for the past week have been taking one, because I could see I was running low.
Bottom line..I have 10 mg (one whole 8mg strip) plus1/4 of a strip. I can't refill for 5 days. should I take 2 mg per day? will I get sick?. Thank you.
Any quick response will be appreciated. Others shave reported 2 mgs as still being a high dose of sub. I don't want to psych myself out. Dear GOD why am I such an idiot?
 
Suboxone, as you know, has a very long half life so you will have a lot in your system to tide you over. I would take 2 mgs a day. When I started I was only on 6mgs a day and I quickly went down to 2mgs in a few days so I think your dose is high to begin with. With suboxone/subutex, less is more. You are going to have to taper down at some point so this will be a good way to see how you handle 2mgs.
 
My daughter is considering going back on suboxone. Can I ask why one would take more? I am not meaning that in a mean way, I am honestly asking because I don't understand much about this medication...
