Here in the UK one particular community regularly practises these marriages, and despite being 2% of the population, they make of 1/3 of children handicapped physically and/or mentally by genetic disorders, the trait is happening in other countries where the practise is common too.

I am THE babe x ?????? - That's great, but there is scientific proof that such marriages are VERY dangerous, why take such risks of having disabled kids? Here such couples have 2 or 3 healthy kids, next cant walk, next ones born death, next one simply dies etc. Is marrying a cousin really fit for 2010? What is the need for a particular community in the UK especially, who I wont name, to be so inward looking and backwards as to frown on marriages outside ones own Baderi or FAMILY? It doesn't fit for 2010 and given the risks should be banned.
Brain washer - You asked for it, well when two closely related people have a kid, chances are, as they're from the same gene pool, they are carriers of the same problems and recessive traits, so the chance of the two producing a child effected by this problem or having this recessive trait passed on skyrockets, as there is no dominant allele to cancel it out, producing, often, a severely handicapped child. In this community I mention, they have been marrying cousins for generations, and the facts show they are 13 times more likely to get genetic disorders in that community.
Aafreen - It might be halal, but it's by no means a command, anyone can marry anyone in Islam, but these communities often FORCE cousin marriages upon people to ''preserve'' their wealth, their race and their ''reputation'' and try to live within their clan to the exclusion of all others cultures, races ethnic groups and people of varying social status around them. Such an attitude probably isn't halal.
