Rafel Nadal or Roger Federer, who's better player?

federer is also 4 years older. 4 years is a lot of time... nadal has quite alot left in him. he just broke the all time masters record with 17, and hes 24 years old in june! he has the potential to get up to the major count that fed has now by that age.
 
I've heard these interesting claims that Nadal would be better since he leads in the matches between the two.
But then again, Nadal is a 6-time Grand Slam winner (4 in French open, 1 Australian open win, 1 Wimbledon win), which is great, but Rog Fed's stats don't lie: 16 Grand Slam wins (WR), 22 grand slam finals (WR), 23 consecutive Grand Slam semifinals(WR), and so on. Also, 4 ATP World Tour Finals titles, and an all-time record of 26 ATP World Tour Masters 1000 finals. Moreover, he's holds the record of most consecutive weeks as nr .1 player in the world, 237 weeks. And he's just 2 weeks away from Pete Sampra's all-time record of most weeks as nr.1 in career(286, Fed: 284). And he's got the most earnings of all tennis players.

So, you could say that Federer is a record-breaker, historically amazing player. Nadal might dominate in French Open, but Fed takes the other three...
 
If nadal didn't have the problems with his knees, federer would've still had 14 or 13 grand slam titles becaue before nadal fot injured federer couldn't win anything.
 
Rafa is like a mirror of RF. He has all the shots, in different styles. His serve is a little less potent, but he makes up for it with speed and groundshots. Federer has the Grand Slam Titles that have yet to find Nadal's mantlepiece to this point in their respective careers. I think Rafa has a best SURFACE, while Roger has a best GAME!
 
Look, its such a difficult question to answer as Nadal has been plagued with injury of late. Prior to his recent knee injury, Nadal was at his best and winning the Aus open, Wimbledon and French open, so it is arguable that Nadal isbetter than Federer. Furthermore, Nadal hasa better head-to-head with Fed.
 
Federer is clearly better than nadal.

Federer's records show how much great he is. He got the complete game, rafa game is not so complete but from baseline especially on clay very hard to beat.

rafa still has to prove a lot, if there were more grass tournaments like clay tournaments Federer - nadal head to head record would be almost equal.

and about maintaining fitness Federer is clearly better, his style of play is unique and best to play tennis. I don't think rafa will be able to equal or break Federer's grandslam record (16, still counting) by the end of nadal career. rafa has to prove that his game can beat tall players as well, comfortably.

Federer is the best.

Federer is definitely the greatest player ever! He is an absolute genius on court! He's undeniably the most skilled and versatile player the game has ever seen! And he's mountainous number of records are ridiculous.
But I think once both of their careers are over, they will be named the two greatest players.
Federer because of his consistency and many records. And Nadal for his absolute dominance on clay.
