radio replacement

What is the easiest Kenwood unit to install?I do not care if the hand controls are not
working.I just want better sound and reliability. I am sick of this junker stock radio.

Go to www.biketronics.com I went with a Sony head unit and was real happy with it on my '08 EG.Can't imagine not having the controls ,well worth the 200.00 for the Biketronics Retro radio kit.You can buy a marine grade head unit,Kenwood,Sony what ever for 120-160 bucks but mounting in the fairing and making it look good will be a pretty good chore, let alone wiring it in.Cheapest route imo, send the HK unit to Iron Cross Audio.I've never seen a bad review on them. They rebuild and remodify the stock unit and make it a reliable radio for about 250.00.

I think about any "after market" unit, is gonna be the same on an install. I do agree on the retro kit from Biketronics. That way you get the adapter kit and all, and still have hand controls.

i have a kenwood in my 01.. used biketronics mounts($50).you get two blocks that bolt to any radio sides and stock brackets..works great. if you get a remote stereo, you can get the steering wheel control and hook up your handlebar controls for less then $50.. you can get the whole kit for a lot more
