Radio locked out - garage cannot help - I have the code - cannot put it in - as locked?

Ford will not do free!? Had the vehicle for a year, radio never worked, as not even wired in. Local garage sorted, but it is locked out, another garage said they could do it, took it there,and they couldn't, as it's locked? now what? If I have to pay loads to sort it, may as well replace it surely?
 
If you have the code you should be able to just input it.However its getting to get the radio to ask for it in the first place.Easiest usual way is disconnect your car battery for about 20 mins then reconnect and your stereo should come up with the word code,enter it then.If that does not work there may be something wrong with the code in which case i would take your log book to Ford and ask them to confirm the code to make sure its correct.I dont see them charging for doing that as similar happened to me with a Jaguar and even jag who tend to charge highly for everything confirmed the code for no charge.Good luck.
