R450 Mobile email??

I just got a batch of the new messagers and under games and apps there is a link to set up a mobile email, tried msn to no avail, says there is some sort of error and then asks for a bunch of proxy settings and port codes?

Anyone have any luck with this or is cricket possibly launching mobile email soon? I'm curious to see if the email will work like a blackberry!! :burger:

My wife's R450 does not have Mobile E-mail Available, but my jetset does. So I am guessing that it is only being pushed to people that have evdo. So going by that, the new phones coming out should have it if they are evdo.
 
the r450 will support the email client but the r450 has a mess load of bugs that there is supposed to be an update coming out soon. there was an update for the r450 but it pretty much bricked the phones, the new update will fix mms issues as well as update the phone for future download clients like the email app.
 
Will these updates get pushed automatically to the hanRABets, or will users have to take them into the corporate stores to get reflashed?
 
the update you will have to go into the store to get it updated. i don't think any phone that cricket offers has the option to do it OTA like other carriers do.
 
You will probably need to take it into the store. I know when there was a firmware update for my R550 that I had to take it in.

I have yet to see a phone actually have it's firmware updated over the phone, I've heard about it for years, but never actually seen it.
 
the update to the jetset mainly had to deal with people who were close to triband area or a triband area. it would search for signal when coming from a non aws area to a aws area. i never saw anyone with the issue come into the store for the update but we did do a few though just to make customers feel happy bout the sms they recieved bout the update.
 
I was sent a text, several times to bring it into the store. After the update my phone was being worse than ever, cricket switched it out with another one, and now it isn't has bad. It only occasionally reboots it's self when I call out.

But overall I am happy with the phone.
