My neighbor was talking to me on how his own mother doesn't want him reading the books 'The Ugly Duckling' 'Thumbelina' or 'The Little Mermaid' to his own children because the man who wrote them (Hans Christian Anderson) was gay..........
.....!?
So because he was gay, his work should be discarded and tossed aside like trash? Is that fair? I've seen this before, where a person can not be taken seriously by another person because they were gay, lesbian, bisexual, or even transgendered. As if their own sexuality defines them. How they think, their views and ideals, how they wake up in the morning, what they do for a living, what kind of car they drive, etc.
I've seen this kind of attitude around here too, so why is that? Why do some people thinks it's correct to immediately define someone's morals and who they are on life because they LGBT?
