If you sign up for the Navy, get to the 8 week boot camp and find that it's too much for you or you can't deal with the drill seargants....can you just quit without it showing up on your record?
Or will it only show up on your record if you're kicked out?

What do you have to do to get kicked out?

Basically, while just in boot camp what could make you leave with a bad mark on your record?
I'm asking on behalf of my brother who isn't sure if he can shower with other guys or deal with the instructors (he has anger issues)...so we just need to know if quitting or going off on an officer will make things difficult for him afterwards..getting a job etc.

if you are unsure about serving in any branch of the armed services don't join during war time. they will keep you unless you are total crazy & you sure don't want that in public records. In peacetime you can normally get out by meeting with a phys doc & ask for a discharge. kinda of no harm no foul, but it is a different set of rules during war. If you are unsure & have already signed up but not taken your physical meet with your recruiter & try to get out of it. If you can't, tell them you are a drug user or a homosexual. Good Luck. I was in the Army for 7 years.

My husband had major problems with authority when he went to boot camp. He got to the point he wanted to come home to me so he slacked off and tried talking back to get kicked out. Then they told him shape up and pass or start over from day 1 because you signed a contract. Luckily they passed him and he actually turned out doing very well. To say the least it was really hard for him but he feels like a more accomplished person because he succeeded something that was hard for him.

wow, i wish i had a nickel for every time i had heard this. check this out boot camp is a drag if you let it. really its only 8 weeks. i am a sailor and thought it seemed like everyday of boot was crap. but after i graduated i looked back and was like dang that was a joke. honestly who ever your talking about let them know that it is only 8 weeks. and the nexted 4 + years is great and that there gonna look back and be glad that they completed it.
