Quitting St Johns Wort & Starting 5-HTP

I took St Johns Wort for less than 3 days before deciding that 5-HTP would be more in fit with my neeRAB. I haven't taken it for 6 days. Do you guys think it would be ok to begin the 5-htp now? I am planning on starting with 50mg at night then slowly increasing the dosage if necessary.
 
I have read quite a bit about 5HTP and most of it is positive. The only reason I personally never tried it is because I have read in several different reports that you should not exceed 100 mgs daily and that you should take frequent breaks from using it. I suppose that those two points were made about 5HTP, because there are really no studies of long term, daily use of it.

I don't see any reason why you couldn't start taking the 5HTP now, I know people who take St Johns Wort and 5HTP together.
