quickest way to control eating?

I am starting a workout routine through the school, going to the gym in my lunch times for about 40 mins a day, but I wanna control my eating, because i know food + exercise is how it works towards a healthy body.

has anyone got any ideas to sidetrack me when i think of or want food when i know i dont need it!?
