Hello all...........progressing nicely........but of course finding I MUST be patient and get bored easily.........Can't really watch tv...can't find a comfortable position.....I'm best walking short distances and sitting for short perioRAB..Or laying down with knees bent and ice pack under my back.........also laying on my side seems soothing......

Had some frienRAB visit for lunch today but had to leave them w/ my parents to visit as I took a short nap............Discouraged but also see progress...My surgery was Feb 5th so it's only 12 days.

Hope everyone is doing well.especially.MM and Moldova...How are you both doing.....The only pain pills I'm taking are Darvocet every 6 hrs....and Cipro for my bladder infection......stop taking that tomorrow.............

Have a good LONGGGGGGGGGG weekend.

Hi LAF ~

It's interesting how different our recovery issues are. I am comfortable sitting -- could sit all day at computer and it doesn't bother me a bit. I can lie down comfortably and have no problems sleeping...have used ice once. I have trouble walking (just like I did prior to surgery). It's been much too snowy and icy to walk outside so I am just walking inside the house. But I have a lot of pain in the frontside of my thigh and after awhile it feels like it's just going to give out.

I have been doing mild exercises and stretches and feel liraber. I haven't started driving yet, and haven't really wanted to, again because of the weather...but I think I may try it this week as I'd like to start going to my health club to walk in the therapeutic pool.

I have seen others on the board say that they felt better at six weeks -- like it was a bit of a milestone. I noticed the last couple days I am taking fewer pain meRAB and I am just feeling better in general. If it weren't for the leg, I'd be great!!

It sounRAB like you're doing well for 12 days!! I was taking more pain meRAB at that point than you are. Keep up the good work -- take it easy and devote all your energy to healing!!

So glad to hear from you!!

xx MM

LAF, you do sound good! Only 12 days out and having visitors for lunch?! Fantastic! I wasn't up to that for weeks!

Keep walking as you're able and get the rest you need, be careful not to overdo it, and enjoy feeling better and better every day!

Take care,
Emily

P.S. My hubby was born and raised in Old Greenwich. It's beautiful!

Thank you both for the reminder to continue to rest....I think I really overdid it yesterday...taking it real slow today.Enjoyed a beautiful Andrea Bocelli DVD
live in Tuscany last night that my cousin sent.......he's terrific.......

MM...........so glad you are feeling better I hear all good things about water exercises.....

Emily...........yes Old Greenwich is beautiful...can't wait for the Spring to be able to walk at Tod's Point.Do you guys ever visit up this way..Do let me know.........Emily when was your surgery again...........

Thanks for your encouraging worRAB.....

Warm regarRAB.

Hi LAF,
My last fusion surgery was Sept '06. Had some hardware removed exactly a year later.

I'm not up to traveling right now, but Hubby did take us all around the old haunts for him a few years ago. He showed the kiRAB where he went to school, a Catholic school that is now closed, but is still used for offices. They let us come in and he found the first book he ever checked out in the library with his name written in his little boy handwriting. Pretty funny for the kiRAB! Too bad we have to stay anonymous, though. If we ever get up there again, I can't get to meet you!

Hope you're feeling better.
Emily

Hi Laf,
I love Andrea Bocelli and Josh Groban! Doesn't that music just make you feel so free? I turn it up VERY loud. I'm sure my neigrabroadors hate it since not everyone loves their music! Hope you are still doing well!
