ok so i need braces and i went to western dental like 2 weeks ago and the dentist told me i need braces. she gave my dad a slip (referral) to an orthodontics. she said medi-cal will pay for my braces, but everyone on here is saying western dental scams people by saying medi-cal will pay, and then end up billing me anyway. then i called western dental and they said i have to get pre-approval for medi-cal to pay for them... other people say the orthodontic will tell me if i qualify for medi-cal to pay. i dont know what to believe. i just know my parents cannot afford to pay. so what should i do? i need to know if there is a chance medi-cal will REALLY pay for them if the orthodontic says i qualify. or.... how do i get approval from medi-cal, and how long will it take? because i want braces like with-in 3 weeks. oh, and my parents already scheduled my free screening.
