Quick Media Player Question - PS3, 360, Wii

I have a Wii, PS3 (60GB), and a modded 360.

My PC has Vista Ultimate installed and I know I can play videos and mp3s off it on the 360. I just don't like having my 360 connected to the network.

Is there anyway to connect the PS3 and my PC to play files? Maybe some trick USB wifi to spoof a USB media device?

Just seems silly that Sony left out connecting to a PC to stream media.
 
From what I can tell is the Orb does it for the Wii and PS3... but it seems strange to have to get on the internet to access files on your LAN.
