Quick Install Not Installing

UPGRADED FROM HANDHELD TT TO T3. NEW DESKTOP SOFTWARE WITH QUICK INSTALL SAYS MOST OF MY APPLICATIONS ARE NOT COMPATABLE WITH HANDHELD (T3) AND PUTS THEM INTO THE EXPANSION CARD FILE (WHICH I DON'T HAVE). NEVER HAD THIS INSTALL PROBLEM WITH MY TT. INSTALL READS ENABLED ON THE CUSTOM HOTSYNC TAB, BUT NOTHING INSTALLS. SYNC-ING WORKS OK, BUT CANNOT INSTALL ANYTHING. I CAN BEAM FROM TT TO T3 AS A WAY OF INSTALLING, BUT NOT FROM DESKTOP. ANY SUGGESTIONS? THANKS

Steve,

First, please don't post in all caps. This is considered the internet version of shouting and it makes your message hard to read.

I suspect you didn't uninstall the old desktop before intalling the new desktop. This causes registry conflicts in the quick install program. You should uninstall the current desktop and then reinstall direct from your T3 CD. You should also go to the PalmOne web site and download and install the updates for the T3 since there were many bugs that will be fixed by the upgrades.

First of all, sorry about the all caps Jim. My fingers were just flying and I didn't pay any attention to the caps lock key. You are correct. I did not uninstall my old desktop-I should have known better but I was afraid of losing all of my data and applications. Anyway, I will now do it and start from scratch with the CD or download the software from Palm One with the realization that the handheld is my primary backup source at the moment. Downloaded all the appropriate updates from Palm One. Hopefully this will solve the registry problems and allow install manager to accept and install into the handheld and not an expansion card. Thanks again for your prompt response. Happy New Year. Steve
