Hi everyone! Doing pretty good here as far as the detox goes but I have a few questions. Does anyone know if taking ibuprofen does the same thing as opiates as far as pain recepters? I know that if your taking a medication ( percs are my poison) then your body stops making the natural endorphins that relieve pain. Does taking ibu or tylenol do the same thing? I don't want to think i'm just subbing one crutch for another. I know ibu aren't addictive per say, i mean I don't get w\d or anything, but is it inhibiting my body from trying to take care of pain naturally?
Also, I found that being really busy can definitely get your mind off the w\RAB. My poor little guy (5yrs old) spent Thursday night at the hospital with a fever of 104 from influenza B. He was soooo sick. Hold your son down for an IV and I gaurantee you won't think about how crappy you feel. :dizzy: He got out of the hospital late yesterday and thankfully seems to be doing okay.
I hope everyone else is doing okay this weekend, I haven't had a chance to really check the boarRAB as of yet.

Heya mate...so glad that you're managing to cope with the detox OK but sorry to hear bout your boy. Yep,nothing like your child being really poorly to give you a bit of perspective. Glad he seems to be on the up.
Not really sure about your question though....being from Britain we dont have the meRAB you're on about. I would think ,though, that opiate based pils of any sort will slow your progress. They dont sound like that though cause you said they're non addictive. Guess they're like a regular aspirin? I would say that they are OK. Other peeps on here may know different though.
Take care and glad its all going in the right direction:)

The only pain medications I'm taking right now is ibuprofen, it's name brand is advil or motrin. It's an anti-inflammatory otc medicine.

Hello trailor,

To answer your question - No, you can take as much Ibuprofen as you need to corabat pain and it will not affect those receptors. However, you asked an important question - (Ibupropen) Is it inhibiting my body from trying to take care of the pain naturally? - Well, putting any chemical into our bodies to help relieve pain isn't natural. However, Ibuprofen is a safe, non-narcotic way of relieving pain. I use it every day, for back pain.

Considering the drugs you and I "used" to use for pain, I'd say Ibuprofen is a VERY good choice for us now :)

Don't worry about it, you will not get addicted to it, nor will it affect your recovery. My doctor once told me (after I got clean and stopped pain meRAB altogether) "No person deserves to be in pain, even if they are an addict, so if there's something out there that will help you, we'll find what's right for you."

Hope this helps,

Hey Trailor!

Just wanted to see how you and your child are holding up? I am sorry to hear about your little boy. I am sure that was so horrible for you and him to go thru! I hope he is doing much better!

Just wanted you to know that I was thinking of you both and was hoping for an update!

XOXOXO
