questions on Army Cavalry Scouts?

What is the training for a Cavalry Scout from start to finish, and is there any fail rate to speak of?

Is it mandatory to go to Airborne school?
or is that an option so you can become some kind of Airborne Cavalry Scout?

Also, do they get to see much action?
or are they just usually sneaking around being the eyes and ears for everyone else?
