I'm looking for my first car, which I'll be using to drive up to college. Since I'm a college student, I don't have much money, so I'm hoping for something that's around $5,000 - $6,000, good on gas, and has decent mileage since my college is a couple hundred miles from my house.
I want to buy from a dealer. I know they'll be more expensive but I don't trust private sellers at all because several of my friends have gotten screwed over when buying cars from people on Craigslist.
Are used cars generally cheaper in Jersey (I live in New York)? Any suggestions for models to look for? Thanks!
