Questions about shaving my manhood?

So, I know the pros and cons of doing it, et cetera et cetera and my girlfriend wants me to. I'm not asking personal preference and what not, I just have a couple of fears.

What are the chances of someone finding out about me doing that? Like would a doctor say anything if I did that or would they just ignore it?

Are there any bad long term effects of shaving?
 
1st fear - doctors would ignore it
2nd fear - no im pretty sure there are no long term effects, girls wax their "femininity", and we live through that pain, you only have to shave.

also, i think it makes a guys manhood look bigger without all that hair
