I'm applying to magazine internships and I'm trying to compile a portfolio of my clippings. I have two questions:
1. Do you include edited or unedited versions of articles in the portfolio? I assume the edited, published versions would be much more professional, but isn't that also sort of cheating, because some editor might have 'cut off your true voice' or polished all the spelling/grammar mistakes you make?
2. What if you wrote the article under a pseudonym? How do you explain that? How do you claim that that really is you who wrote the article, or is it just a matter of honesty and trust?
