Questions about planting my garden?

i would think your climate is ideal for tomatoes try runner beans
and grow them wigwam style and you should have loads of fruit

Last summer I had a small garden, big enough to have a few tomato plants, a cucumber plant, and few green pepper plants. My tomatoes did ok, tons of small tomatoes, but none got very big, I had cucumbers, and my green peppers blossomed, but the peppers never got much bigger than about half dollar size! I'm wanting to try again this year, and maybe add a few green bean plants in as well. Any suggestions? I fertilized, watered regularly, and it's in a spot that got plenty of sun.

P.S. I live in northern Indiana
