My significant other was a 10 year heroin addict (dabbled in some crack and xanax as well). He's been sober for going on about 2 years. By his choice he has decided to lower his methadone dose. I believe he started at 100 for awhile and has been maintained at 80 for quite awhile. He has cold turkeyed it many times in the past due to situations such as being incarcerated. What would the usual course for someone at that level? Is that a a lot to be on or is it fairly common dose? Are there signs I should look for that he might be having a hard time? I'm not "green" when it comes to addiction but haven't much knowledge about methadone. Thanks all...just want to be as supportive as possible as he has been making great strides in his life. One can always read up on things but hearing people speaking from experience is invaluable!
