I am in the Coast Guard, me and my husband violated the 8-H policy and now my command is saying they are going to mast us. We came forward to the command due to pressure. However, a couple other then us came forward to the command about seven months ago and the command did nothing, they did not mast them or punish them in any fashion. We feel this is because the command favored one of those members and choose not to punish them in order not to affect her chances of OCS. As we can see in our command folder, their is no record of their page seven and this person still has their name attached to a A school list. The unit she is addressed to being attached to on this list is her pervious one, not the new unit she has been at for about seven to eight months. We feel this command may have swept this under the rug, and has worked with this couple based off of this information. I am about a month and a half away from the end of my enlistment and three weeks to the beginning of my terminal leave, can they mast my husband and not me? We have spoke to our chaplain about this, as well as our local senator's office. Dose any one know of a route we can take that will help? Any thoughts or advice? we are also thinking about speaking to a newspaper? is this a good idea?
