Question to the people that have nokia nuron phones?

My phone doesn't vibrate or have a message popping up that says "1 new message" It used to do both, but now it doesn't and I don't know what happened. All it does is blink a few times (the white button between the green & red) and that is it. I have to personally click messages and open up my inbox to check for new msgs, which is very inconvenient. My phone is currently on silent & I set a msg alert tone & vibrating alert on. I don't want my phone to make a sound when I receive a text. Can anyone look at their phone and tell me their settings or teach me how to fix it? thank you so much
