Question to multiple bikes owners

I had a garage full of bikes as well, had an 04 and 07 R1, the 1198 and a SV650s. I found that after i got the Duc that i hardly ever rode any of the others at all.

I got rid of the 04 and 07 R1, i had intended on turning the 07 into a fulltime track bike, but i just dont have the time to go to the track alot. Just got the duc and the SV now. I use the Duc for small bit of commuting but mostly for canyon carving every now and then.

I have three bikes at the moment. I don't see the point in two sportbikes unless you convert the R6 to a trackbike. However I do recomend a second bike like a Monster. Great back and forth to work bike and city riding.

Here's another perspective. I always love the idea of having two bike and over the years, there have been times I've had two bikes (usually an MV Agusta and a Ducati or R1). What typically happens is I tend to perfer a bike and use it more often.

For example, when I have an MV and 1098 (Tricolore), I was suppose to use the 1098 for more city driving and the MV for more canyons since the 1098's a little more comfortable and better spread of torque and I like the feedback of the MV better. But what happened is the 1098 sat in my garage as I used the bike I prefer. After 10 months, I sold the 1098. I bought an 1198 after my MV's radiator cracked again but that's another story.

I've been toying with the idea of a second bike (like an RSV4 or the new MV Agusta) but I know history will only be repeating itself

I suspect if you get an 1198, you'll also use it for city driving because of that torque advantage over the R6. So, the R6 will probably be sold or become a dedicated track bike.

I would like to thank every single one of you guys for all your input, I really appreciate it! After all the reading, I think I will keep the R6 at least for now and see how it turns out

Best regards,

Andorra.

I might get my wife's ZX6r in the divorce but don't know what I'd do with it. I've riden it a few times and after stepping off of the 1098 you have little respect for the lower power bike. I early throttle and just ride stupid trying to break the rear loose or something. All of that stupidity might bite me one day!

Me too! 1098S and... a Cagiva Elefant! A great second bike. Good to go SLOWLY on - 1098 not so good at that - explores dirt roads - not the 1098's strong suit ('though it has done a lot of miles on dirt..) - good ride for the passenger - 1098 can't do that ('specially now with the alloy subframe..) - good to have two really different bikes which compliment each other..
But the 1098S is still the best!

How many pairs of shoes do you own? Do you have one pair that can do everything?

The R6 would make a great track only bike.

A monster is nice to have as a 2nd bike for commuting or Sunday rides since it's more comfotable than an all-out sport-bike. One of the sport classics are't too bad either.
