Hi. I'm an advanced sketch artist. While sketching, I draw everything photo quality with no measuring, techniques, etc. But for the life of me, I just cant capture human faces on paper.
I recently asked about sketching faces here in Yahoo Answers. It was recommended that I resort back to the stick and cross measuring technique. Althouh I did some of this in school, it was never my strong suit (to say the least). I know the basic concept. But what I guess I dont know is how to take perspective and measurement out of the facial features.
Cheek bones, matching eyes, facial weight and ear starting points are my problems. My shading is good, my eye's look flawless but dont match each other, and my mouth is just medicore. It's the proportion that I cant get down.
What technique do you use with regard to what I stated above? How do you make your proportions accurate? Do you also start with the nose and work off that? How do you employ you stick/cross technique?
Thanks in advance!
