On T-mobiles wifi equipped 8320. Is the wifi automatically useable if a connection is available or do you have to add some package onto your service plan in order for the wifi built into the 8320 to be useable?
First, don't take any one's word on this EXCEPT t-Mobile!
That said, I believe you'll be able to use WiFi for Internet connectivity without any extras. However, with t-Mobile anyway, you need an additional service to hand off your phone connection to a WiFi connection.
One might ask, why pay for that? Well, if you get lousy reception at home (which I do living 20 stories high), the prospect of having a great PHONE connection is very tempting!
The wifi will always be available to you for the call quality abd reception just not the free Hotspot@Home calling without the add-on. Also you will not be able to use the wifi for email or web without the Blackberry add-on feature. The reason is because if you do not have the blackberry add-on you will not get your internet browser icon. Therefor no internet. The exception to this may be if you had opera mini you may be able to use it though I haven't tried this. ~via BB Curve (wap.rabroad.com)~
