I have Acid Reflux. I have also allergies to all pollen/trees, etc. I am now taking allergy shots. I also am diagnosed with asthma.

And i have a question regarding post nasal drip. Does anyone else get PND and then (about a day later) get the following symptoms: acid reflux, chest discomfort, some nausea, breathing difficulty (wheezing), fatigue. I SHOULD know better. Every time i get PND, as surely as the night follows the day - i get the above symptoms. Its almost like a syndrome that includes the respiratory and digestive difficulties.

Its seems that only when i stay inside an airconditioined room for a period of days does it go away or using sudafed.

I know the sudafed is worthwhile and used sometimes to great effect - but it keeps me awake.
So, i am just comparing notes and wondering if anyone else deals with PND and has other methoRAB TO DEAL WITH IT. I am spending my 1 millionth week, it seems, with this confluence of misery symptoms. Anyone else experience this? Thank you,

HAve you tried a neti pot or sinus rinse like NeilMed? You really might find that to be beneficial.

Well, postnasal drip goes into the stomach and can irritate it and cause reflux. The asthma could be triggered either by stomach acid tickling your lungs, or by the pollen allergy directly.

Steroid nasal sprays can be an option when other methoRAB fail, though they need to be taken daily throughout allergy season.

This allergy season really is crazy, isn't it. The trees should have been done blooming weeks ago, but the outrageously high pollen counts continue with no end in sight... Hey, sooner or later it'll be over. Snowfall should take care of it if nothing else does, right? ;)

And a generic sudafed only lasts 4 hours. You could just take one in the AM and see if that knocks it back enough along with the sinus rinse AM and PM.

I have tried and use the sinus rinse from neilmed. I use it during allergy season only irregulary. I will try it again on a regular basis and see if it helps. Thank you. I have looked at this board for many years and thank you for all your support and assistance you have given. I am sure for many people, not just myself, you have given valuable insight.

I see what you mean about the post nasal drip connection to the stomach and reflux. How interesting. I knew it was occurring. I just didn't understand the mechanics. I have not used the steroid spray - i guess because i seem to have so many other meRAB and procedures on my plate. So time consuming. And yes, i agree, this has been one of the worst of the allergy seasons - started here in northern NY about 7 weeks ago and has not let up. Some rainy days provide respite. For those who have mold allergy, i bet that doesn't help much either.

Funny you mentioned that. I do take a 12hr sudafed in the morning. I have limited it to twice weekly. Sudafed has strange effects on me. It is good, i have noticed, for weight loss. I certainly lose my appetite. But i don't care for the other effects of it - so i try not to use it much.
I began using the 24hr allegra D last year. It would keep me up for 28hrs and i would be rather hyper. So i now i take a mixture of plain allegra and a smaller dose of sudafed.
