when it comes to cars.? 4 years ago I got a Chrysler Sebring Convertible. I had to put a rebuilt engine in it, which had around 50k on that. About 2 years ago, I got a 02 Ford Explorer, so I put the convertible in my driveway.

There it has sat for almost the whole time, as my gf was going to fix up the car a little and take it. However, her friend ended up giving her a civic for really cheap, so she took that instead.

I had a neighbor come up to me today and ask me about buying the car. I have no clue what to tell him. I was planning on possibly even junking the car at some point, since there a few problems, such as the battery and brakes need to be replaced, and any other problems that can come up when a car sits for two years.

In general, without too much of an inspection and with him paying for repairs and cleanup and all, what is a good asking price that will make sure he probably gets it but at the same time doesnt leave me feeling like I ripped myself off? Thanks for any input!

( My guess is somewhere in the 200-700 range?)

If the car runs and drives it worth $500 all day long, and sure there will need to be things the buyer will have to do to it but that is normal for a cheaply bought car. Just a little while ago the bone yards were giving $500 just to crush them for the steel. I would ask $750 for it as is or put a battery in it to show it runs & drives, then ask $850, then when the buyer talks you down some, (which they all do) then say ok $750 and it`s yours. Good luck. :^)
