Question for jazz ballad playing technique?

i really like jazz ballad
in jazz, there're a lot of styles
is there a style that only specified for jazz ballad?
cos i think playing jazz ballad has more complexity in chords and line
anybody can explain?

PS: do you know what are the albums that contain only jazz ballad played by The great jazz trio besides NY Sophisticate?
