OK...now that I have your attention with a seemingly idiotic question, I was wondering what the chances of pulling this off might be if you were already a fixed wing pilot with a few thousand hours. Instruments, systems, and engines are roughly the same...so is navigation. If you had a "virtual instructor" or a book tailored specifically to an experienced fixed wing pilot, could you learn the basics of takeoff and hover and landing without killing yourself? Also, how does a large helo like a UH-60 compare in difficulty to that of an R-22?
Uh, no. Not planning to do this for real. But I just bought a simulator.
