im chriistian and only belive in god but im really into indian culture and mediation, and i was wondering your opinions about if reading books like "remember Be here now" by ram dass, a buddhist or hindu (i cant remember) guru is against christianity?? im really into the countercultre and the 1960s and someone reccomended it o me and i loved it... His book is sort of based on buddhist teachings and such, about living in the moment and the lifestyle that gurus live. but, the book also incorporates quotes and teachings from jesus christ in the bible and chinese philosophers and such as well as thing from ghandi. So, is it wrong to read books like these because they have some teachings from other religions in it?? I'm just interested in how to live in the moment and use meditation as a way to experience life very real, instead of in a haze like usual. i think the books really interesting and i relate everything i read to god, not buddha or other 'religious' figures.

also, a couple months ago i went to a meditation session at a buddhist place where i live to expereince wat group meditation was like, and the people there said they accepted all religious ppl no matter what religio they are and such, so i went and the lady there was saying buddhist teachings and stuff and i cant see how its wrong to listen to what she has to say, because its all about becoming a better person and how to live in a good way, which is exactly what jesus says to do. and when they were chanting to buddha i prayed to god.
so was that wrong to do??

i in no way believe in buddha or anything but i love meditation
