I have a '96 Mustang GT.
Today, I needed to back out of a parking spot, well the gear wouldn't go into reverse...so I had to 'shove' it in there (the clutch was fully pressed in). It doesn't do this a lot, but today, it wouldn't come out of reverse after I got it in there. It felt like it locked up. I had to roll back into the parking spot. I turned the engine off and cranked it back up... it finally popped out. What the hell happened, and have can I do to fix/prevent this problem. How much will the parts cost??
Also, whenever I shift gears, and I get the rpms above 2,000... it makes a really bad clacking noise... like a rollercoaster... what is making this sound? How can I fix it?
