Question: Cricket no longer allowing flashed phones to access web on new acts?

This must be a market issue, I'm doing a repair and reflash on a Droid. It was listed as QA4 in CID, I changed it to Zio added the Zio plan and all is working now. Now just to dive in on repairing the charging port.

I've also had three Blackberries come back with problems that a simple refresh solved. But I have seen in other markets that have had problems.

They have a database of all the phones they have ever made and what the esn/meid numbers are. If you enter a number that the system doesn't recognize as a cricket phone, they know it is a flashed phone. Ex: I would flash a customers Samsung Rant and activate it as a messenger in CID. When I called customer service for a refresh, they recognized the MEID wasn't in their system as an Cricket MEID and gave the line about they could promise me nothing since it was a flashed phone. But normally the refreshed would work the first time if the rep actually did it like they said.

Not to start an argument, but if you set it up in cid as messager why would they bother to check the meid? I get accounts refreshed daily and never a question about the meid.

I think it depends on the person. Most of the people I got if I had to call about a phone I flashed or a phone someone else flashed would give the line about not guaranteeing anything on a flashed phone. But some people just did the refresh and that's it. I always got rude people who would ask me every question under the sun with an attitude for some reason. Most people won't go through what I went through, but I'm just sharing what happened to me in case it helps someone else.

I think cricket is not allowing or doing something to prevent flash smartphones from getting txt, mms and web. I left cricket about a month to go to boost. I had to leave boost because too many drop calls, Albuquerque market must not work well for boost or calls get priority for sprint customer first. Before switching from boost I had a touch pro 2 on cricket and everyting worked, txt, mms and web. I was on the legacy $40 + tax plan. Now that I've come back and started a new $45 cricket account I can't send txt, mms or get web (clearmode comes up). I call cricket tech support and they refresh the account and still no go. Double check my epst setting and everything there is good.

Dont just ask them to refresh the feature. Tell them that you want them to check the feature codes, and if they are not properly provision could you please provision the feature codes. Its not rocket science guys.
