jst gotta question. is the android 2.2 froyo workin rite wit the htc hero yet i kno there was sum complication wit it but has it been fixed yet. also wit da android 2.2 os can it turn the fone into a wifi hotspot.

It was painful to read that. We really need to fund our inner city schools better. If that wasn't a joke, my heart cries for the future of America.

Also, why is this in the Cricket PDA forum? Try the HTC forum. Android 2.2 does include a built in mobile hotspot. If you purchase a 2.2 device from a carrier this is likely disabled, however. You can purchase an application called PdaNet which will add that functionality back in for around $20. That's usually the price of 1 month of tethering from the carriers, so it's a great deal.

Curiosity killed the cat, so here it is. What exactly are you asking here? Are you asking if Froyo will work on a cricket Hero? or Are you asking about Wifi hot spots? Got us all a little confused so please write very clear of what you are asking.

sorry bout the confusin. i am askin bout the android 2.2 froyo, can it work rite on the htc hero wit cricket. nd will it have to same feature as the original android 2.2 by makin the phone into a wifi hotspot. all im askin is the froyo wrkin rite wit the hero n will the feature work rite on cricket. again sorry bout the confusin

The answer is yes, you can use a 2.2 Froyo Rom on a cricket flashed Hero, and yes you can turn it into a "Wifi hot spot" but that can be done using wifi-tether.APK for root users. The features that currently won't work with the froyo 2.2 base ROM is MMS "picture messaging"
Also note that with Froyo you will lose all Sense features, but gain a whole lot more.

There is a link above although it is for the G2 "GSM Hero" that link will get you close, the froyo 2.2 Hero ROMs are located in the CDMA Hero forum there at XDA. or you can also try googling for it.
