question bout 1996 dodge neon?

im havin 2 problems with my car
1. sometimes when i am stopped when the car idles it acts like its starving for something keeps sounding like its gonna cut out
2. when im driving and i try to accelerate i can have the pedal to the floor and it acts like its having a hard time getting up to speed
what could be wrong with my car ?
ive replaced the fuel filter and fuel pump on the viechle sorry i fogot to add that in original question
 
Sounds like you are losing fuel pressure, losing spark, or have bad compression. Best bet is to take it to a reputable repair facility and pay to have it checked out by a professional.
 
There are many reasons
Does your car stalls like your on a horse or cow?
Are there any leakage (coolant, engine oil, or transmission oil)
If you provide your mileage, it would be more helpful to answer.

Check:
1. Tune up
2. Timing belt/ or other belts
3. Water pump (less likely but can be gas pump)
 
You may have an air leak somewhere in the intake system. Open the hood and listen for hissing, spray a little carb cleaner around the manifold and if you hear surging, you have found the leak. good luck
 
Check the timing marks. Your timing belt couldve jumped a tooth.You need to have this checked asap because this engine is a zero tolerance engine meaning a big timing jump will destroy the engine.
