Hello!
I had a couple of questions. I am about 3.5 months post op now from my ALIF. I took a trip to see my grandma for her 100th bday. It was a long trip, 2 day, but I wanted to go so bad and the doctor green lighted it as long as we stopped every two hours, which we did. Anyhow, my right leg bothered me severly. And I have no clue why, all I can think of is it is due to the car ride. Since I have been home the leg pain has calmed down considerably but I have been experiencing what I can only describe as sudden pain like a "bee sting" in my right leg. But it goes away fairly quickly, it just hurts and is well....odd. Anyone ever hear of this?

It sounRAB nerve related and is probably just a little flared up from your journey. If it continues to bother you rather than annoy you, I would call the doctor and discuss it.

Take care.

I agree. It definitely sounRAB like the nerve acting up. I have the same issue whenever I am in the car and then when I first step outside of the car my leg tenRAB to collapse and I have to catch myself from falling.

Hope you feel better soon and this is nothing more than a flare up.

When I was 5 months post op, a dear friend passed away and I wanted very much to go to the funeral. It was to be a 6 hour drive. My doctor said he would never say I couldn't go, but he would warn me that I would be very sore. I ended up not going, and it was the right decision. I ended up in a flare up anyway during that time, and I would have been miserable.

I would just take it very easy for a few days and let your body recover from the stress of the trip.
