Hello,

I was hoping people could help me out with a question i have on xrays.

I have recently spoken with two health care professionals regarding plantar fasciitis.

One of them says that plantar fasciitis CAN be diagnosed from an xray.
One of them says that plantar fasciitis CANNOT be diagnosed from an xray.

Which one is correct?

Thank you

Plantar fasciitis occurs because of irritation to the thick ligamentous connective tissue that runs from the heel bone to the ball of the foot.

If the pain is caused by a bone spur, it will show up in an x-ray, doubt it would show irritation or inflammation.

I personally have plantar fasciitis and have learned the most likely cause is a tight calf muscle. Doing stretches to reduce tightness of the calf muscle is helping me.
