Hey everyone,

I have about 6 open sores about the size of half of a dime on my chest that are still very inflamed even being 3 days since the injury. They are scabbing, but the redness will not subside. I went to the doctor 2 days ago and she said that they didnt look infected, but I cant understand why the redness will not decrease. They really are painful, and I am thinking about going to the ER since the doctor cant see me again until wednesday. Its really making me upset because its like a stinging pain (especially when my shirt rubs against it), and Im scared that the redness is scarring :/ Please help>:(

Actually, wounds heal better with NO air. when a scab formation causes more irritation (pulls) and possible infection such as on the chest, it would be best to cover it and use the triple antibiotic.
You could be setting yourself up for something, especially with constant rubbing. There's strep and staph on our skins normally...and shirts might not be as clean as one would hope.

I responded on the other post.

There's a poduct called DuoDerm...works like a charm and is totally waterproof. As well...I've never been allergic to it, as I would be from a bandaid in such a sensitive area as the chest.

Hope the healing process goes smoothly.
