Question About USMC Boot Camp?

About Running/PT? I've talked with Marines who have just gotten out of boot camp and they say the PT is not nearly as bad as we are led to believe. I can't remember exactly, but I think he told me that PT sessions aren't even every day? Also, during the runs, is the length of them staggered? Like when you first get there, do they only have you running 1 and a half miles then gradually work you up? Or do they run you 3+ miles right away? I ask this because I am not a distance runner, I can run the 1 and a half mile PT qualification in the alloted time, but I cant keep on running for three or miles yet.
No one ever said there was NONE, he just said its not as constant as pop-culture would have you believe.

The IST (inital strength test) is easy but the PT in boot camp is hard. My husband is in boot camp right now and he could run 10 miles and do about 12 pullups and about 80 situps in two minutes and he wrote me and said the PT is VERY hard, much harder than he thought. But your body will adapt.

No, it isn't that hard and you don't start off at a mile and a half. Someone needs to calibrate their knickers. They start off with fairly easy PT in the morning. First phase is mostly classroom and drill. By second phase you'll run a couple of miles before breakfast. Don't worry, by then it will be a piece of cake.
