Question about upgrading a sprint phone? (:?

So, like, i want to get rid of my blackberry for a htc hero, but i've only had this phone for a good 6 months. So yeah, im not eligible for a discounted upgrade price.

Regardless though, can i still just buy the phone at it's regular price and continue my plan?
