Question about touching up make-up midday?

I have acne-prone skin which is slightly oily (but doesn't become very shiny) which is almost always with pimples. I use Revlon Colourstay in the morning and it looks great, but by midday I can tell it has sunken in/is losing its coverage. (I apply a primer and powder before and after in the morning, too). It is far too thick to reapply during lunchtime, so I am thinking of perhaps reapplying my powder (a Rimmel one that is mineral and translucent and claims to be good for spot-prone skin) at midday. However, when I tried it out when I got home from school in front of the mirror, I noticed it made the small spots on my face (I'm never without them; they're not big enough to go red and eventually go, they just always loiter around) even more noticeable, and drew attention to my pores. However, it did give me a bit more of a better look if I don't think about that.

Does this happen to everyone when they reapply make-up at midday? What do you use? And is this normal? And what should I use if I want it to look as good as it does when I first apply it in the morning, or to overcome the fact that it draws attention to my spots and stuff?

(Please don't tell me to ditch the make-up to let my acne breathe. It makes me so self-conscious as it is, and not having a layer of foundation would make me feel worse. I do know that it is the foundation that sometimes makes my skin look worse by midday because it has melted off o faded, but I just want to make it last. Revlon Colourstay seems like one of the most reliable long-wearing drugstore foundations out there, although I am thinking of switching to something a bit lighter with a concealer).
