Question about the "right to shoot to kill trespassers" law in Texas?

I'm Canadian, and moving to Texas soon. I was just wondering exactly how this law works. It would be a little more relieving to know I don't have to worry about getting murdered out of nowhere if I had to trespass for a legitimate reason. I'm already worried enough about all the crazy drug related violent crime that goes on in this particular area :(

Some examples of what I mean by legitimate reason:
(Please keep in mind before saying that for these to happen I'd have to be very irresponsible, accidents do happen, and these would usually be very small non life threatening accidents. at least in Canada.)
I'm on a walk with my child and they wander onto someones property. I go and grab my child to lead them off the persons property. Could the owner of the property legally kill us and get away with it?

Another example:
It's very windy and I'm outside with some very important papers(or some other random item) that accidentally get blown onto someones property. I go retrieve them quickly as the wind will just keep blowing them away. Could they kill me for that?

And so on.. I'm sure there are better examples. Basically just small incidents that could possibly make someone have to go on another persons property for a second or two. I've just heard a lot of bad things about this. I'm not sure exactly how violent and unreasonable people in Texas can be.

*Also just a note*
I don't particularly WANT to move there, at all for that matter! It is only because my fiance is in the military, and is stationed in Texas. So we have to wait a few years until he is out till we can move back to Canada.

Thanks for the help in advance!
