I am interested in serving in a branch of the military as an infantry soldier (Marines or Army) after graduating from college. I know they contract you for 4 years active duty most of the time and 4 years active reserve. So by the time I enlist I will be at least 22 years old. Then I will serve in the military. After my military service I want to join the peace corps. I was hoping to be under 30 by the time I finished all of this. Is there anyway I could do this maybe only enlist for 4 years. Really the heart of the question is, is there anyway to join the marines and not have to serve 8 years?
